Glamping means combining the most authentic contact with nature with comfort, luxury and ecology. An experience of staying in unique structures that conceive the idea of camping as immersion in woods, forests and extraordinary natural environments, but with the comforts of a hotel and an eco-sustainable approach to holidays. Here are the most original ones in Italy.
SARDINIA – The ‘pinnettos’ in the Natural Park
Essenza, which is part of Ecobnb, is immersed in the magnificent scenery of the Regional Natural Park of Tepilora – the only UNESCO Reserve in Sardinia – an area of 8000 hectares among mountains, rivers and sea, offering breathtaking views. There are four cosy and simply furnished ‘pinnettos’ with two/three beds and private bathroom. Su pinnetu is the typical hut of the shepherds of central Sardinia, consisting of a circular stone base and a roof made of branches on a frame of strong tree branches. There are countless green activities around the hut: you can go on a discovery tour of Sardinian history through its nuraghi, archaeological monuments, and magical domus de janas. There is no shortage of trekking, kayaking and mountain-biking excursions; you can spend a day among the local natural beauties such as Mont’Albo, the Usinavà naturalistic oasis, Lake Torpè, the Rio Posada, the Bidderosa oasis with its dream beaches, all within a 20-km radius, and the beautiful Posada beach only 10 minutes away.

CAMPANIA – The eclectic eco-friendly glamping on the lakes
Elegant, designer tents and lodges float on lakes and open up to a pleasant landscape surrounded by vegetation at Laghi Nabi, the first natural oasis in Campania (CE). The eco-sustainable structures of the Glamping (the first in Southern Italy), all independent and with ample space, the result of an innovative bio-architectural project, are scattered along the sheets of water, visited by water birds, combining the adventure and freedom of camping with the comforts of a luxury hotel. There are no filters between the interior and the landscape, but privacy is absolutely respected. Also beautiful are the lakeside lodges supported by wooden stilts, with an outdoor patio and private walkway. And the splendid Safari Tent, ideal for couples of friends or families, with private beach and direct access to the lake, outdoor patio with whirlpool and breathtaking views. The novelty of the summer is the houseboat in the middle of the water, made entirely of wood and equipped with every comfort. The large glass window in front of the bed casts your gaze towards the lake, so you can enjoy a breathtaking view while lying comfortably. Outside there is a patio, also floating, equipped with comfortable armchairs, a small table, and sun loungers. At Laghi Nabi you can enjoy many water activities (canoeing, pedaloes, sailing lessons) and sports (mountain biking, birdwatching, horse riding), as well as relaxing in the sun and swimming in the Wellness Pool overlooking the lake.

TUSCANY – The tree house in Maremma
In Civitella Paganico, Grosseto, you can experience the most authentic glamping, sleeping in the little house on the big oak tree, immersed in the peace and silence of nature. On the 85-hectare farm immersed in the heart of the hills of the Upper Maremma, 5 minutes from the beautiful Petriolo Thermal Baths (free of charge) and surrounded by medieval hamlets, you can stay on the farm and take part in the daily activities of caring for the animals (horses, pigs, sheep and poultry); milking and cheese-making, always in tune with the natural rhythms and discovering the true short supply chain, among the olive grove, vegetable garden and orchard. In addition to the tree house, you can experience the yurt, the tepee, the crystal dome and the Hobbit house.

ALTO ADIGE – Dreaming in glass cubes at Lake Toblacher See.
Nature is at the centre and everywhere in the Skyview Chalets at the Toblacher See (BZ), futuristic ecological glass and wood cubes in the forest, in view of the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites and the crystal-clear waters of Lake Toblach. The architecture of the Chalets, all independent and private, disappears (even from the roof) to give the embrace of the trees and dream at night under an endless blanket of stars. In each Chalet, guests will find a private infrared sauna and in the deluxe version a Jacuzzi whirlpool on the panoramic terrace, to relax while remaining in continuous contact with nature. Just a stone’s throw from the paths of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and Fanes-Senes-Braies nature parks, the days pass in harmony as you let yourself be lulled by the waters of the lake, walk barefoot along the beautiful Kneipp path or go boating and pedaloing. Breakfast is organic and based on local products. It can be enjoyed on the chalet patio, thanks to the ‘home delivery’ service.
